Our bedroom has always been my sore spot. For some reason, I’ve just never had the motivation to redecorate it. Probably because I’ve always focused on the rooms that guests see — the kitchen, living room, dining room.
But now that we’ve moved into our house, I’m determined to make our bedroom more inviting. More relaxing. And with things that match. I like when things match.
One of the most difficult parts in redoing the master bedroom is the fact that it’s a smorgasbord of life with my husband before we were married. Most of the furniture is Ikea — and don’t get me wrong, Ikea is legit. But you know how there are those items at Ikea that look great in the store and in your head, and you’re well aware that they’ll only likely live a year? So those are the pieces I have. And they’re at the not-quite-curb-worthy-but-starting-to-peel stage. There’s also nothing on the walls, the curtains were leftover from the previous owners, and it’s just not….US.
